The Dorset Children's Foundation is a small local charity dedicated to improving the lives of sick and disabled children within our community.

We actively support The BCVS Young volunteer programme and also recruit from the following sectors:
Bournemouth Council for Voluntary Services.
Local mental health teams.
Job Centre Plus.
Local language schools.
Our own customer base.
Volunteers with carers are actively welcomed.
We also provide a structured work experience programme from 8 to 26 weeks for both the long term unemployed and for those aged between 18 to 24. From this programme we have offered paid employment to two previously unemployed young people and taken on two additional youngsters who have now successfully completed their NVQ level 2 in Retail via The Modern Apprentices Programme.
The Foundation is committed to ensuring Fareness and recognises the need for diversity and inclusion within our recruitment and management of volunteers.
We currently have 31 wonderful volunteers ranging in age from 14 ( participating in The Duke of Edinburgh Award Scheme) to Joan, who is 89.
We do not have an application form and recruit using an informal interview. All health and safety procedures are followed and induction and on going training is supplied.
